An update of well.... life?

I supposed I should take a moment and let the world know (I guess when I say world I really mean simply a few friends and family) that Cat Cat is still alive, but generally miserable. The Vet said she was really dehydrated, and they took some blood to run a few tests, which we will hear back on Wednesday. But for now she is back home and meowing insanely loudly, and generally letting us know she is unhappy. As far as that goes, I guess we will know more on Wednesday.

Now, lets take a moment and talk about George Foreman. I realize right now that anyone who is reading this is probably wondering why in the world I would want to talk about George right now. But since this is my blog, I'll talk about whatever I want to. A Yahoo! search of George Foreman produces more than 18 millions results. George was a boxer, a preacher, a motivational book writer, and the inventor of the George Foreman Grill. This was some thing we registered for at Bed Bath and Beyond as part of our gift registry. Last night, I made Turkey burgers, Which I have to say were insanely tasty. I chopped up onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms and sauteed them for a little with some garlic. Then I took the sauteed veggies and mixed them into the burgers, and formed them for grilling.

The results were outstanding. Made with whole wheat buns, lettuce and cheese, it was a quite the meal and actually fairly healthy as well. On a side note, I added a little seasoning before grilling, which next time I will not, as it did not seam jive with the flavor of the veggies.

So now, I am a fan George's grill. I feel like we know each other in a weird sort of way. George knows I like to cook, and his grill was made for me. Perhaps that sounds a bit crazy, but that's just the way life goes.

As I write this, it is Tuesday, December 18,2007. Ben arrives in a couple of days. We can't wait for that. The next couple of days will be spent making sure everything is ready for the young man's arrival and stay with us. He will be here for the next two and a half weeks. We will be sure to post as many photo's to Flickr as possible, I sure Amy will be appreciating that.

So until next time, everyone have a good holiday and stay safe.

  1. VOR and D -- your blog is so great! I love it! Can you believe that our porn blocker at work doesn't allow me to view blogs? That's just not right. How am I to entertain myself at work?

Sorry about Cat Cat being so bummed.

VOR, I love the way you write. You crack me up and are so very . . . VOR. How very fun that Ben will be there for Christmas. What a great time it will be.

More later -- guess the comment area is not for a lenghty diatribe. Sorry. Hi Delia!! J

  2. Don't you hate it when the vet says, "we need blood work?" We've done that before with Moreno - spent over $200 for a blood sample and of course, the blood test didn't turn up any new information. When is someone going to start selling pet health insurance?

You went to all the trouble to get yourself here, you might as well say something about it.
